Hi Boudewijn, My sister and I went to the kitchen every day, therefore we had to pass a long street, I don’t know the name, with only a few very small trees, so my sister and I ran over the very hot concrete (we had no shoes) from tree to tree to cool our feet a little, there was just place for two small feet in the shadow under each tree.
It were mainly children who collected the food, and whoever came first put all his pots, pans and lids in a queu, and you then gave out places to your friends. I am still amazed that everybody accepted this procedure, even the grown-ups!
cheers, Rita
